Ingredients

The base

  • 1 ¼ cup raw cashews
  • 1 cup water

The flavorings

  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar

The probiotics

  • 2-3 capsules probiotic capsules

Instructions

  1. Soak cashews in very hot water for 1 hour or in cool water for 6 hours or overnight, then drain.
  2. Blend the drained cashews with water until creamy and smooth.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the contents of the probiotic capsules.
  4. Cover the bowl with cheesecloth or a thin towel and secure it, letting it rest at room temperature for 24 to 48 hours.
  5. After culturing, add salt, lemon juice, and apple cider vinegar, stirring to combine.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  7. Use immediately or chill for at least 6 hours before serving.
