Instructions
- Rinse the farro under cool running water to remove dust and excess starch.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed farro with at least 4 cups of water and add the salt.
- Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a gentle simmer.
- Cook the farro until it's tender but still chewy; pearled farro takes about 15 minutes, while unprocessed farro takes 25 to 40 minutes.
- Drain the farro well.
- If desired, stir in olive oil and garlic while the farro is hot, and season with additional salt to taste.
