Ingredients

  • ¾ cup hot water
  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp salt, plus more to taste
  • 1 Tbsp harissa (or substitute with hot salsa, hot sauce, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients in a blender, starting with the lesser amount of water.
  2. Add more water as needed to achieve a creamy, pourable consistency.
  3. Taste and adjust flavors, adding more nutritional yeast, salt, cumin, chili powder, or garlic as desired.
  4. Serve with chips or as a topping for tacos, nachos, or burritos.
  5. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5-7 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
