Sautéed Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 wedge lemon, for squeezing
  • optional red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add broccoli, garlic, salt, and pepper, and sauté for 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of water, cover, and cook for an additional 2 to 4 minutes until the broccoli is tender.
  4. Remove from heat, squeeze lemon juice over the broccoli, and season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if desired.
