Homemade Apple Pie

Instructions
- Prepare the pie crust by mixing flour and cold butter until it resembles coarse sand, then add salt dissolved in ice-cold water and form a dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rest in the fridge for 30-45 minutes.
- Core and slice the apples into thin pieces.
- Melt butter in a pot, add apples, and cook until slightly soft.
- Add brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and vanilla to the apples and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Mix granulated sugar and flour, sprinkle over the apples, and stir until thickened.
- Transfer the apple filling to a dish and cool in the fridge.
- Roll out half of the pie dough and place it in a pie dish.
- Trim the edges of the dough and fill with the cooled apple mixture.
- Roll out the second half of the dough, cut into strips, and create a lattice top over the filling.
- Trim the edges of the lattice and prepare an egg wash with egg and milk.
- Brush the lattice with egg wash and refrigerate for 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and prepare a baking tray.
- Brush the pie with egg wash again and sprinkle sugar on top.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes until golden brown.
