Instructions
- Whisk together the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- Make a well in the dry ingredients and add the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Allow the batter to rest for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 200°F and set a baking sheet with a cooling rack inside.
- Fold in the chocolate chips after the batter has rested.
- Preheat the waffle iron and cook the batter according to the iron's instructions, about 4 to 6 minutes per waffle.
- Transfer cooked waffles to the warm oven while cooking the rest of the batter.
- Serve topped with melted butter and syrup if desired.
