Ingredients

The batter

  • sticks unsalted butter
  • ½ cup granulated white sugar or brown sugar
  • 2 extra-large eggs
  • 4 tablespoons heavy whipping cream or plain yogurt
  • 2 overripe bananas, mashed
  • cups all-purpose flour or cake flour, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ cup walnut halves, chopped

For topping

  • ¼ cup walnut halves

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating until creamy and well combined.
  4. Stir in the heavy whipping cream and mashed bananas.
  5. Fold in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and chopped walnuts until well combined.
  6. Transfer the batter to the greased loaf pan and top with walnut halves.
  7. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
