Ingredients

The Wings

  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 1 cup all purpose gluten free flour
  • 1 cup non-dairy milk
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¾ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups crispy/panko gluten free breadcrumbs

The Sauce

  • cup maple syrup
  • 6 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • ½ cup water
  • to taste none chopped scallions

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. Remove florets from the cauliflower and chop into smaller pieces.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, non-dairy milk, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to create a batter.
  4. Coat the cauliflower florets in the batter, then transfer to breadcrumbs to coat completely.
  5. Place the coated wings on the baking sheet and bake for 22 minutes.
  6. While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce by mixing all sauce ingredients in a pan over medium-high heat, whisking until the cornstarch dissolves.
  7. Bring the sauce to a boil, then simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
  8. Remove the wings from the oven, toss them in the sauce, and return to the baking sheet.
  9. Bake for an additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to soak in.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!
