Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar in a bowl and set aside.
- In a mixer, cream together sugar and butter, then mix in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Scoop out dough (about 1 ½ Tbsp each) and shape into balls, placing them on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until slightly under-baked, then cool on a wire rack.
- Once cookies are cool, frost with cream cheese frosting and top with fresh fruit.
- To make the frosting, cream together butter and cream cheese, then add powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
