Ingredients

  • 5 ounces bittersweet chocolate
  • 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 units eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • cup flour
  • ¾ cup Heath toffee bits

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare an 8-inch square baking pan with foil and butter.
  2. Melt the bittersweet and unsweetened chocolate with butter over a bain-marie, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once melted, remove from heat and let cool.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until thick and light-colored.
  5. Add salt, vanilla, and cocoa powder, then whisk to combine.
  6. Incorporate the melted chocolate mixture thoroughly.
  7. Sift the flour over the mixture and whisk to combine, then fold in the toffee bits.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top and adding more toffee bits on top.
  9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, rotating halfway, until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let cool on a wire rack before cutting into pieces.
