Ingredients

The batter

  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ½ cup almond butter
  • ¼ cup coconut flour
  • 3-4 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon apple pie spice

Optional topping

  • to taste brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix until a thick batter forms.
  3. Transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish and top with brown sugar if using.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes or until the tops are golden and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  5. Allow to cool completely and refrigerate for at least an hour before slicing.
