Comforting Feta Dip

Ingredients

The whipped feta

  • 1 ¼ cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt or vegan thick yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1 pinch ground pepper

The sauteed apples

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium apple, diced
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 pinch chili flakes

For serving

  • 2-3 pieces warmed pitas, cut into triangles
  • 1 bunch chives, minced
  • ½ cup candied walnuts

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, blend feta cheese, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, lemon zest, and ground pepper until smooth.
  2. Transfer the feta mixture to a bowl and refrigerate until ready to use.
  3. Melt butter in a frying pan over medium heat, then add diced apples, honey, and chili flakes. Cook until apples soften.
  4. Spread the whipped feta in a bowl or plate, top with sautéed apples, additional honey, candied walnuts, and chives.
  5. Serve with warmed pita slices.
