Instructions
- Add lentils and water to a pot along with any desired flavorings.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook for the appropriate time based on the type of lentil.
- For red lentils, cook for 7-10 minutes; for brown/green lentils, 12-15 minutes; for black lentils, 15-17 minutes; and for French green lentils, 20-23 minutes.
- Drain any remaining water and use the lentils as needed.
- For pressure cooker, add lentils and water, seal the lid, and cook on manual setting for the specified time based on the type of lentil.
- For slow cooker, add lentils and water, then cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-5 hours.
