Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400F (200C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine the milk and vinegar in a small bowl and let it sit until it curdles, about 10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, sugar, and baking soda.
- Add the curdled milk in two increments, mixing gently until just combined.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface, knead gently 8-10 times, and shape into a dome.
- Slice the dough twice across to form a cross shape.
- Bake the dough on the prepared sheet for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing and serving.
