Roasted Broccoli Parmesan

Ingredients

The broccoli

  • 1 medium bunch broccoli with stems

The seasoning

  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

The toppings

  • 1 cup homemade or jarred marinara sauce
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  2. Trim about 1 inch off the broccoli stems and discard, then slice the broccoli stalks in half lengthwise.
  3. Place the broccoli and garlic on a baking pan and drizzle with olive oil, seasoning both sides with salt.
  4. Roast the broccoli cut side up for about 10 minutes until browned on the bottom.
  5. Turn the broccoli and garlic, then roast for an additional 10 minutes until tender and crisp.
  6. Top the broccoli with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  7. Return to the oven and bake until hot and the cheese is melted, about 10 minutes.
