Ingredients

The Chicken

  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breast

The Sauce

  • ¾ cup Homemade BBQ Sauce

Smoky Chipotle Spice Blend

  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon chipotle chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (375-400°F).
  2. Mix the spices for the Smoky Chipotle Spice Blend in a small bowl.
  3. Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel.
  4. Season both sides of the chicken with the spice blend.
  5. Oil the grill grates with an olive oil soaked rag or cooking spray.
  6. Place the chicken on the grill and cook for 5 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes.
  7. Baste the chicken with BBQ sauce and cook for 1 minute, then flip and repeat the basting.
  8. Remove the chicken when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  9. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
