Ingredients

The steak

  • 4 8-oz Filet mignon steaks

The seasoning

  • 2 tsp Sea salt
  • ½ tsp Black pepper

Optional topping

  • ½ recipe Compound butter

Instructions

  1. Bring the steaks to room temperature and pat them dry, then season with salt and pepper.
  2. Prepare the compound butter if using and keep it refrigerated until serving.
  3. Preheat the grill to high heat and sear the steaks for 2 minutes on each side.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue grilling until the desired doneness is reached.
  5. Transfer the steaks to a cutting board, top with compound butter if using, and let them rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
