Ingredients

The chips

  • 6 ounces Pita bread (2-3 thin 'pita pockets')
  • to taste salt
  • as needed Extra virgin olive oil (for brushing or spray)

Optional seasonings

  • as desired sesame seeds
  • as desired zaatar
  • as desired dukkah
  • as desired sumac
  • as desired garam masala
  • as desired granulated garlic powder (or onion powder)
  • as desired furikake
  • as desired everything bagel spice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
  2. If the pita bread is thick, cut it in half and split the pockets open to create thinner pieces.
  3. Brush or spray the top side of the pita bread with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and any optional spices or seeds.
  4. Cut the pita into triangles or long wedges.
  5. Place the pita pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer.
  6. Bake until crisp and golden, about 10-20 minutes, depending on the thickness of the pita.
  7. Let the pita chips cool to crisp up further.
