Ingredients

  • 1-1½ pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 5-6 slices thick bacon, chopped
  • 5-6 cloves garlic, sliced
  • ½ onion chopped
  • 1-2 teaspoons creole seasoning
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • optional parmesan

Instructions

  1. 1. Boil water in a pot and cook the green beans for about 4-5 minutes, then transfer them to cold iced water to stop cooking.
  2. 2. Drain the green beans and set aside.
  3. 3. In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium-high heat until crispy, about 6-7 minutes.
  4. 4. Remove excess bacon grease, leaving 2-3 tablespoons in the pan.
  5. 5. Add sliced garlic and chopped onion to the skillet and sauté for 2 minutes.
  6. 6. Add the cooked green beans and creole seasoning, stirring for 3-5 minutes.
  7. 7. Remove from heat and top with parmesan cheese if desired.
