Ingredients

The bread

  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

The topping

  • 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon dried herbs or Italian herb seasoning blend
  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Drizzle olive oil in the bottom of a 9x13-inch pan.
  2. Combine warm water, olive oil, salt, yeast, flour, and cheese in a large bowl and mix until no dry spots remain.
  3. Scrape the dough into the prepared pan and press it into an even layer.
  4. Dimple the dough with your fingertips and drizzle with more olive oil, then sprinkle with herbs and cheese.
  5. Cover the pan and let the dough rise until puffy, about an hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden and baked through.
  8. Let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
