Instructions
- Crush the candy cane in a zip-top bag using a rolling pin or meat mallet.
- In a small saucepan, combine the crushed candy cane, sugar, cocoa powder, and water over medium heat, stirring until smooth and the candy has mostly dissolved.
- Add the milk and salt, stirring until heated to your desired temperature and the candy cane is fully dissolved.
- Pour into a mug and top with whipped cream or marshmallows if desired.
