Ingredients

The steak

  • 1 pound Denver steak

The marinade

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ¾ tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional for pan-searing)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic.
  2. Add the Denver steak to a bowl and pour the marinade over it, letting it sit for five minutes.
  3. Heat a grill pan or barbecue, or add butter to a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Season the steak with salt and pepper, then cook for about 8 minutes per side until it reaches a medium temperature of 140-145°F.
  5. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
