Ingredients

The Garlic Butter

  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ tablespoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt

The Shrimp

  • 2 tablespoons neutral oil
  • 1 pound medium or large shrimp
  • to taste salt
  • to taste freshly cracked black pepper
  • ½ cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Mix softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, and salt in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  3. Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and sauté for 1 minute without moving them.
  4. Flip the shrimp and sauté for an additional 30 seconds until cooked through.
  5. Transfer cooked shrimp to a plate and repeat with any remaining shrimp.
  6. Reduce heat to medium-low and add white wine to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits.
  7. Simmer the wine for 4 to 5 minutes until reduced by half.
  8. Lower the heat and stir in the garlic butter and parsley until melted and combined.
  9. Return the shrimp to the skillet and coat with the sauce.
  10. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
