Ingredients

The chicken

  • 2.5 lbs bone in skin on chicken thighs
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper

The BBQ sauce

  • ¼ cup coconut aminos
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp chili powder
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Season the chicken thighs lightly with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Place the chicken in the air fryer and cook for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  4. While the chicken is cooking, mix all BBQ sauce ingredients in a bowl or jar.
  5. After cooking, brush the BBQ sauce on both sides of the chicken thighs and serve immediately.
