Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 500°F.
- In a food processor, blend the canned tomatoes with their juices, olive oil, garlic, and salt until smooth.
- Dust a baking sheet with cornmeal and stretch the pizza dough into a large oval on it.
- Spread a heaping ½ cup of the tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
- Top with mozzarella and transfer the pizza to the oven.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the crust is browned.
- Remove from the oven and add fresh basil, red pepper flakes, and drizzle with olive oil before serving.
