Ingredients

The chicken wings

  • 3 pounds chicken wings

The marinade

  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • olive oil for grilling

The BBQ rub

  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar or sweetener
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken wings dry and drizzle with liquid smoke and soy sauce.
  2. Sprinkle the BBQ rub evenly over the wings.
  3. Marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour (optional).
  4. Coat the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Preheat the grill to 425°F.
  6. Place the wings on the grill and cook for 15-20 minutes, flipping every 5 minutes.
  7. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F before removing from the grill.
  8. Cool the wings before serving.
