Perfect Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

butter, softened to room temperature

natural, unsweetened or Dutch-process cocoa powder

vanilla extract

milk (preferably not skim)
Instructions
- 1. Mix softened butter until light and creamy.
- 2. Add powdered sugar and sift cocoa powder into the bowl.
- 3. Mix in salt, vanilla, and 2 tablespoons of milk on low speed until combined.
- 4. Add more milk as needed and increase speed to medium, mixing until creamy and fluffy.
- 5. Press through frosting with a silicone spatula to remove air bubbles.
- 6. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for several days.
