Ingredients

The beans

  • 2 cans (15-ounce) Great Northern beans

The flavorings

  • 3 slices bacon
  • ½ medium yellow onion
  • ½ cup no-sugar-added ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow or Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Cook the chopped bacon in a skillet until almost crisp, then add diced onion and cook until softened.
  2. Transfer the bacon and onion mixture to the slow cooker and add the drained beans, ketchup, maple syrup, mustard, molasses, vinegar, and water.
  3. Stir gently to combine the ingredients.
