Ingredients

The cereal

  • ½ cup millet
  • ¼ cup amaranth
  • 1½ – 2 cups water
  • a generous pinch salt

The toppings

  • 1 tbsp liquid honey
  • 3 dried prunes, sliced
  • 2 dried apricots, sliced
  • 1 dried peach, sliced
  • 10 toasted hazelnuts, crushed

Instructions

  1. 1. Bring water to a boil and add salt, amaranth, and millet.
  2. 2. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the mixture is creamy and all water is absorbed.
  3. 3. Add more water if necessary.
  4. 4. Stir in honey, dried fruits, and nuts, then transfer to a serving bowl.
  5. 5. Optionally, add cold milk to the cereal before serving.
