Hangover Burgers

Ingredients

The Burgers

  • 2 lbs ground chuck roast (80% lean, 20% fat)
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp fresh ground pepper
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 package nitrate-free bacon (12-16 oz)
  • 8 medium-sized jalapenos
  • 8 large eggs
  • 8 slices thick-cut Muenster cheese
  • ½ stick butter (for frying the eggs)

The Secret Sauce

  • ½ cup mayo
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp pickle relish
  • 1 dash onion powder
  • 1 dash smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Combine the sauce ingredients and refrigerate until ready to assemble the burgers.
  2. Mix the beef, butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl and form into 8 patties.
  3. Make an indentation in the center of each patty to ensure even cooking.
  4. Preheat the grill to 400°F and grill the burgers, flipping halfway and adding cheese.
  5. Grill the jalapeños until cooked through and charred.
  6. Heat a cast iron skillet or grill grates, add butter, and cook the eggs until whites are set but yolks are runny.
  7. Remove the burgers and keep warm under foil.
  8. Assemble the burgers with a patty, egg, bacon, jalapeño, and secret sauce on the top bun.
