Instructions
- Form the ground beef into 3-4 ounce burger balls, yielding 8-10 balls.
- Let the meat come to room temperature while prepping other ingredients.
- Mix kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder in a small bowl.
- Brush and rinse the baby bella mushrooms, then pat dry and slice.
- Preheat the griddle to 400-425°F.
- Add a tablespoon of oil to the griddle and sauté the mushrooms for 3-5 minutes until caramelized.
- Add the burger balls to the griddle, spacing them 3 inches apart.
- Smash each burger ball into a patty using a burger press.
- Season the patty and cook for 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Top each cooked patty with slices of Swiss cheese and add water around the burgers to help melt the cheese.
- Stack two patties for each burger and top with sautéed mushrooms.
- Remove from the griddle and place on hamburger buns.
