Ingredients

The green beans

  • 1.5 lb fresh green beans

The sauce

  • ¼ cup coconut aminos
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp sambal oelek
  • ½ tsp Himalayan salt
  • ¼ tsp ground white pepper
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Steam the green beans for 2 to 3 minutes until vibrant green but slightly undercooked.
  2. Plunge the beans into icy cold water to stop cooking and preserve color.
  3. Drain the beans and let them air dry in a colander.
  4. Combine coconut aminos, sesame oil, maple syrup, minced garlic, ground ginger, sambal oelek, salt, and pepper in a measuring cup and mix well.
  5. Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat and pour the sauce in, cooking for about 30 seconds.
  6. Add the green beans and sauté for about 5 minutes until cooked to your liking.
  7. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and serve.
