Ingredients

The ribs

  • 9-12 pounds baby back pork ribs
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • Your favorite amount BBQ sauce

The dry rub

  • ¼ cup sweet paprika
  • 3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 2 teaspoons celery salt
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine all dry rub ingredients and generously rub over the surface of the ribs.
  2. Refrigerate the ribs for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat the oven to 250°F.
  4. Place the ribs on a wire rack in a high-edged sheet pan and pour 1 cup of apple cider into the pan.
  5. Bake the ribs for 90 minutes, then add another cup of apple cider and bake for another 90 minutes.
  6. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  7. Grill the ribs for 7-10 minutes on each side, basting with BBQ sauce.
  8. Serve the ribs once the sauce is warmed.
