Ingredients

The pastry

  • 7 ounces store-bought pie crust
  • 1 beaten egg

The filling

  • ½ cup shredded chicken
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
  2. Roll out the pie crust on a floured surface and cut it into 3 circles.
  3. Gather the remaining dough, roll it out again, and cut it into another circle.
  4. Place 2 tablespoons of cheese and 1 tablespoon of chicken in the center of each circle.
  5. Dab the edge of each circle with milk and fold the circles in half.
  6. Use a fork to press the edges of the empanadas.
  7. Brush the tops and bottoms of the empanadas with the beaten egg.
  8. Place in a single layer in the air fryer and cook for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
