Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F and lightly mist a doughnut pan with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- Add the egg, milk, vanilla, oil, and applesauce to the dry ingredients and stir until thoroughly mixed.
- Distribute the batter evenly into the doughnut pan using a spoon or piping bag.
- Bake for 7-8 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, then cool completely.
- For the frosting, combine chocolate chips, canola oil, and agave nectar in a bowl and microwave in 20-second intervals until melted.
- Stir in vanilla until smooth and dip the top of each doughnut into the melted chocolate, spreading if necessary.
- Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle each doughnut with rainbow sprinkles.
