Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Prepare the apples by slicing off the tops and scooping out the core and seeds without cutting through the bottom.
- In a bowl, mix the oats, flour, spices, coconut sugar, and salt. If using, add the pecans.
- Stir in the melted coconut oil until the mixture has a crumble texture.
- Pack the filling tightly into the center of the apples, leaving some on top.
- Bake the apples for 35 minutes, checking for softness. Bake an additional 5 minutes if needed.
- Carefully remove from the oven and serve warm, topped with ice cream and caramel sauce if desired.
