Ingredients

  • cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • tsp salt
  • 5 oz semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped, divided
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine cream, corn syrup, brown sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and 3 oz. of chocolate in a saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a light boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  3. Remove from heat and add the remaining 2 oz. chocolate, butter, and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
  4. Let the sauce cool to a warm consistency before serving over ice cream.
