The dough

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare baking sheets.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until smooth, then add the egg and extracts and mix well.
- Gradually mix in the flour and salt until combined.
- Use a cookie press to shape the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- If desired, decorate with sprinkles or chocolate chips before baking.
- Bake for 7-9 minutes until lightly browned on the edges.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
