Instructions
- Rinse and slice the mushrooms, then mince the garlic.
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the garlic until fragrant.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they release their moisture and become dark.
- Lower the heat and add the flour, stirring until it forms a paste and begins to brown slightly.
- Slowly whisk in the vegetable broth until the flour is fully dissolved.
- Add thyme, sage, and pepper, then stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 7-10 minutes until thickened.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
