Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter

Filling

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ small onion
  • 1 medium green bell pepper
  • ½ pound ground Italian sausage
  • 8 ounces baby bella mushrooms
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese
  • 1 15 ounce can pizza sauce
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. 1. Sprinkle yeast into warm water with a pinch of sugar and let it foam.
  2. 2. Combine flour, cornmeal, salt, olive oil, and melted butter in a mixer or food processor.
  3. 3. Add the yeast mixture and mix until the dough forms a ball.
  4. 4. Place dough in a greased bowl and let it rise for about an hour.
  5. 5. Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook onion and bell pepper until softened.
  6. 6. Add sausage and cook until browned, then stir in mushrooms and set aside.
  7. 7. Preheat oven to 425°F and grease two 9-inch cake pans.
