maple syrup
-
¼
cup
port wine (or water)
-
1
tsp
orange zest
-
¼
tsp
fresh grated ginger
-
2

Instructions
- In a saucepan, mix together the cranberries, orange juice, orange zest, maple syrup, port wine, cinnamon sticks, and fresh ginger.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Once the cranberries start to pop, turn off the heat to prevent mushiness; the sauce will thicken as it cools.
- Optionally, leave some cranberries whole or mash them to your desired consistency.
- Let the sauce cool for about 20 to 30 minutes before serving.
