Healthy Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup fresh squeezed orange juice
  • ¼ - ½ cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except the orange zest in a pot and bring to a boil over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for about 10 minutes until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens.
  3. If the sauce becomes too thick, add some water to thin it out.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the orange zest.
  5. Serve as desired.
