Ingredients

Instructions
- Mix the masarepa flour and salt in a large bowl.
- Make a well in the center and add melted butter and warm water, stirring until no dry lumps remain.
- Adjust the consistency of the dough as needed, then let it rest for about 5 minutes.
- Form balls of dough, flatten them into patties about ¼-inch thick, and place them on greased parchment paper.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry the arepas in batches for 5-8 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels, then cool on a wire rack before splitting and stuffing with desired fillings.
