Easy Garlic Broccolini

Ingredients

The vegetables

  • 2 bunches broccolini

The flavoring

  • 6 cloves peeled garlic, sliced thin
  • 1 ½ tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste kosher salt
  • a pinch red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Trim about 1 ½ inches off broccolini stems and discard, then slice the broccolini in half lengthwise.
  2. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the broccolini, cooking for 2 minutes.
  3. Quickly drain the broccolini and run it under cold water to stop the cooking.
  4. Heat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and garlic, and cook until golden, about 1 minute.
  5. Add the drained broccolini, season with kosher salt and red pepper flakes, and cook for an additional minute until heated through.
