nutmeg (ground)
Instructions
- Combine the apples, apple juice or cider, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick in a large pot.
- Cover and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes until the apples are tender.
- Remove the cinnamon stick and transfer the mixture to a food processor or mash by hand.
- Add honey and nutmeg if using, then puree to your desired consistency.
- Serve immediately, refrigerate, or freeze the leftovers.
