Apple Cobbler with Hot Sugar Crust

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with foil or parchment.
- Arrange the apples in a pie plate, zest the lemon over the apples, and squeeze half the lemon's juice over them. Toss to combine.
- In a stand mixer, cream the butter and ¾ cup of sugar until creamy. Add flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until crumbly.
- Slowly pour in the milk and beat until the batter is light and fluffy.
- Scoop blobs of batter over the apples and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the batter and drizzle hot water over it.
- Bake for 70 to 80 minutes until the top is golden brown. Let cool for 30 minutes before serving.
