Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare an 8x4 loaf pan.
- Melt the butter for the bread in a saucepan until golden brown and set aside to cool.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, allspice, and cloves in a bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk the sugar and eggs, then stir in the browned butter, applesauce, and vanilla until smooth.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture and fold in the apple chunks.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the glaze, melt the butter in a saucepan until golden brown, then mix with powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
- Spread the glaze over the cooled bread, slice, and enjoy.
