  • ½ lb flank steak (or similar), sliced
  • 1 lb broccoli, chopped
  • 2 medium carrots, sliced
  • cup tamari
  • 1 tbs sesame oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ tsp ginger powder
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp chili powder
  • ¼ cup coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp arrowroot starch
  • 3 bricks ramen noodles (7.5 oz)

For garnish

  • to taste sesame seeds
  • to taste scallions

Instructions

  1. Cook the steak to your desired doneness, either slicing it before or after cooking.
  2. Sauté the broccoli and carrots until they are crisp-tender, then remove from the pan.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together tamari, sesame oil, beef broth, ginger powder, garlic powder, chili powder, and coconut sugar to make the sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce into the pan and let it simmer gently for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Mix the arrowroot starch with 2 teaspoons of water in a small bowl, then stir it into the sauce and whisk briefly to thicken.
  6. While the sauce is cooking, boil the ramen noodles, rinse them with cold water, and add them to the sauce.
  7. Add the broccoli, carrots, and steak back into the skillet, and stir to combine.
  8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and scallions if desired, and serve warm.
