Ingredients

  • ½ large banana, sliced
  • 4 ounces unsweetened applesauce
  • cup soy milk or milk of choice
  • ¼ cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter or peanut butter
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon ground flax seed (optional)
  • 3-4 cubes ice (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Slice half of a large banana and freeze it for 1-2 hours.
  2. Add the frozen banana, applesauce, soy milk, rolled oats, almond butter, cinnamon, maple syrup, and ground flax seed to a blender.
  3. Blend on medium speed until smooth, about 1 minute.
  4. Adjust the maple syrup to taste and add extra milk if needed for desired consistency.
  5. Optionally, blend in ice cubes for a colder smoothie.
  6. Serve topped with an extra dash of cinnamon.
