Ingredients

The brats

  • 6 pieces uncooked brats

The beer

  • 3 cans light beer

The buns

  • 6 pieces hot dog buns

Optional toppings

  • to taste ketchup
  • to taste mustard
  • to taste relish
  • to taste caramelized onions

Instructions

  1. Place uncooked brats in a large pot and pour in the beer to fully cover them.
  2. Bring the beer to a rolling boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to low/medium and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to 450°F and grill the brats for 5-10 minutes, turning occasionally until charred.
  4. Serve the brats on toasted buns with your choice of toppings.
